Dry Needling

Dry Needling

A large percentage of the pain people experience is myofascial in origin. That means that low back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches, and many other pain syndromes are largely caused by tight muscles and fascial structures. These can be treated effectively in a number of ways, but getting directly into the muscle or tissue is sometimes the most powerful. This can be accomplished with dry needling.

Dry needling is a skilled treatment modality that is very powerful in helping to reduce pain, stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of neuromuscular pain and movement impairments. It involves inserting a thin needle into the tissues to provoke a response by the body. Nothing is injected into the tissues, and the body’s response to the needle being inserted causes a neurologic and mechanical reaction that reduces pain.
